We began in Woodbridge, Virginia, in 1997, focusing on program development for civil rights and diversity management. Today, Training and Development Strategies, LLC (TADS) has expanded its core business practices to human resources, leadership, employee motivation, management, and strategic planning. However, we are still dedicated to helping clients find ways to develop and fully utilize their potential while achieving their organizational goals, and our vision remains clear: To become a nationwide human capital management conduit for corporations, organizations, employees, and the future workforce.
Oliver C. Allen, Jr., Founder & CEO
Oliver, a retired Army veteran, is a renowned national speaker with more than 41 years of dynamic leadership and training experience. He has served in numerous senior leadership positions with the federal government and military. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member with the University of Phoenix, focusing on advanced career development and management.
He's been recognized for his expertise in equal employment opportunity program development, leadership, diversity, and human capital management. Oliver received the Medal for Civilian Service as well as the US Army Meritorious Service Medal. Oliver is also the recipient of the Attorney General's Award for Equal Employment Opportunity and the Justice Management Division's Leadership Collaboration Award from the Department of Justice.
Oliver engages his audiences with storytelling, simulated exercises, gamification, and life experiences when presenting at national conferences and workshops. With his keen sense of humor and consciousness of today's and tomorrow's millennial workforce, he energizes his audiences to help them better understand themselves as well as their potential, igniting interactive discussions.
On December 1, 2020, Oliver was appointed as a Commissioner on the Racial and Social Justice Commission for Prince William County, Virginia. Oliver received his Associate in Science degree from Northern Virginia Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Strayer College, and a Master of Science in Administration of Human Resources from Central Michigan University. He is a recipient of the Cornell University Diversity and Inclusion certificate, a certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator instructor and a certified facilitator for the Strength Deployment Inventory. He is also a member of the Equal Employment Opportunity and Civil Rights Council and the Association of the United States Army.
