May we all find amazement in each and every season!!!
On this and every day may we remember that protecting that which we have been destined to protect takes no holiday, sick day or day off, to win this battle every day must be earth day.
T-A-D-S is prepared to provide you with full recycle pick-up service and delivery to the appropriate Materials Recovery Facility.
We are also offering, at this time, compost and fryer grease removal as well as standard trash pick-up for commercial clients. All compost materials will be delivered to area agricultural and organic farms and the fryer grease will be reclaimed as bio-diesel fuel.
Let T-A-D-S make the transition to the new recycle law as seamless as possible for you.
Effective January 1, 2008, the state of North Carolina will require all restaurants and all establishments [including private clubs], that serve alcoholic beverages, to accumulate, sort and store all glass, plastic and aluminum for recycling. Failure to comply may result in the suspension of a permit.
Did You Know?
The following interesting facts were obtained from Holly Bullman, Regional Planner with the Land-of-Sky Regional Council.
We are placing 11 million tons of waste in our landfills, per year. This is up from 1991, with 7 million tons. Within the next ten years, this number will jump to 18 million tons, if we continue at the current rate of discard.
We have an estimated 16 years left of landfill usage in North Carolina. It takes 10 years to get a site approved and all the legal paperwork/permits obtained. Right now, the waste and recycling industry is competing with one another. It has always been less expensive to dispose of waste rather than to recycle. However, that is changing as we run into more and more depletion of our natural resources. For example, we export paper recycles to China. It is less expensive for them to buy recycles from the US than it is to try and acquire more forests.
Jobs, in North Carolina, have increased by 20% as we start to see a curve from the loss of textile and other industrial jobs. Recycling is replacing the lost jobs.
In 2009, all plastics must be kept from the landfills in North Carolina, as well as all pallets which account for approximately 18% of the total materials dumped.
Fall is here and the leaves are showing all their bright beauty!!!
It is time to get out and enjoy the beauty of the mountains with all their majestic transformation. Take time to stop and enjoy the beauty that the creator has placed before us and remember to be thankful for all that we have.
As we approach the holiday season it is time to think of family and environment even more. Soon the mountains will be alive with their own music. The music of color and nature. Take time to listen to the wind in the tress as well as the birds signing. It is a time to reflect on what more we can do to save our environment and protect that which we have been destined to protect.
As the election draws to close, take a moment to think about real change, not political catch phrases. What can I do to make a positive change in the day and area I live in? What can I do to make a change for another person? Take time to do one good deed a day for someone, our planet, a child and one of creator’s creatures!!! When you have done this you will in fact be making a positive change.
Economic change-
Each person is a gift unto themselves and change starts by looking in the mirror. We have the power with in ourselves to make a difference in the present. Stop and think of what you can do. Do not look to someone else to promise hope and change. It is only the person in the mirror than can actually make the difference!!!
